NJ.com No Curveballs review

Bill Werndl’s autobiography “No Curveballs: My Greatest Sports Stories Never Told,” has been getting rave reviews from around the country, including one from legendary writer Bob Shryock from NJ.com.

You can read an excerpt from the book review below:

Bill Werndl, one of the most versatile sports journalists in Philadelphia’s rich history, with a jillion stories to tell and 50 years of experience, has co-authored with life-long Gloucester County resident Joe Vallee, “No Curveballs; My Greatest Sports Stories Never Told.”

The book is replete with colorful anecdotes including a Werndl encounter with Howard Cosell and the Day he — not Frank Gifford — was body-slammed by Chuck Bednarik.

Baseball great Bill White pens the book’s foreword.

Vallee has loved sports since growing up in the 1980s and experienced all the emotions of rooting for consistently last-place teams.
